Born and raised in New York City, Jack started in the entertainment business as a lead vocalist and guitarist for various popular rock & roll bands. He got a taste of success with his very first film, `Porky's', directed by Bob Clark. After the sequel, `Porky's II: The Next Day', Jack continued to do roles in films and television including Law & Order; NYPD Blue; Awakenings; and Cadillac Man. Jack got his break in the spring of 1993 when he met director, Edward Burns, while the two played for the same team in the Central Park Softball League. They began discussing a story that Burns had started writing called 'The Brothers McMullen' and Burns offered Jack the lead as the tortured and conflicted eldest brother, Jack (coincidence?). 'McMullen' went on to become one of the most successful independent features in film history as well as garnering several illustrious awards (1995's Best Picture at Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival and Best Picture at the 1995 Deauxville Film Festival) and was the very first acquisition of Fox Searchlight, the art film division of 20th Century Fox.As of late, Jack has turned his attention to writing, producing and directing. Two plays that he is producing and starring in are currently in the works: 'Primetime' and 'Romantic Tragedy'. They are slated for the Off-Broadway Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 seasons.Jack just finished recording a sketch comedy series which aired on the 2005 Edinbugh Festival Radio. He is one of the writers and featured performers on the show. Another project near to his heart and his Irish roots is a new sitcom, 'The McGillicuddys', for Irish and American television audiences. In it, Jack will play the lead of Paddy McGillicuddy, a widower starting a new life in the Bronx with his three kids, Irish triplet twenty-somethings. He is also one of the project's writers and will make his directorial debut with the show. He has already finished co-writing and recording the show's theme song, 'Home Away From Home', on which he performs the lead vocal and guitars.Jack also participates in several charity events and organizations such as The Jackie Robinson Foundation, The Alan Brown Foundation for Spinal Cord Research, The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Ace For a Cure.An avid softball player, golfer and all-around athlete Jack graduated from the prestigious Stuyvesant High School in New York City at the tender age of 16.Jack lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in the apartment that he has called home since birth.
