Best known to American audiences for his portrayal of Adolph Eichmann in the 1978 TV miniseries Holocaust, lean-and-hungry Liverpudlian character actor Tom Bell began his stage career in 1948, while still in his mid-teens. Bell's chip-on-the-shoulder demeanor enabled him to thrive in menacing or brooding roles in films from 1960 onward. Outside of Holocaust, Bell was seen at his best in The L-Shaped Room (1962; a rare sympathetic role), He Who Rides a Tiger (1966) and All the Right Noises (1969). Tom Bell's British TV appearances include the weekly series Out and Hope It Rains. |
